Giuliano Raneri
BEng (Hons)
Principle Engineer
Giuliano Raneri graduated with a first-class honours bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Australia in 2016.
On graduation he was recognised for high academic achievement (top 15% of his class). He is committed to the design of more efficient and environmentally-friendly buildings through the advance of new technologies and Net Zero transition.
Before joining Skelly & Couch in May 2023, Giuliano benefited from more than five years’ experience working in a number of building services roles focused on electrical and mechanical design, design management, multi-disciplinary project team leadership, and project collaboration and coordination.Giuliano worked as Project Engineer and Electrical Team Leader at FG Advisory, Melbourne, a consultancy which specialises in high-performing and environmentally-sustainable buildings and infrastructure. During this time, he became a solar designer, accredited by the Clean Energy Council.
At Skelly & Couch Giuliano is gaining valuable experience of theatre work contributing to the relocation of the National Theatre Stores, which will create a groundbreaking production centre, enabling several theatre venues to share costumes, props and scenery. Also for the National, he is working on two back-of-house projects providing crew rooms and offices at the Lyttelton and Olivier Theatres.
Adding to his knowledge of listed buildings, Giuliano is contributing to the £8m redevelopment to refurbish the historic, Grade II-listed Canning Town Old Library as a new hub for heritage and digital learning. This complements listed projects at the King’s School Canterbury, near Canterbury Cathedral, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, where a state-of-the-art new science building contains high-quality, state-of-the-art science labs and a lecture hall. This links to existing science accommodation in the Grade II-listed Parry Hall.
For the University of Brighton, Giuliano is supporting a project at the Falmer campus, which is being redesigned, renovated and upgraded with many additional specialist facilities for sport and health science students. Also in the field of education, Giuliano is starting design work on a new-build, pre-prep school for James Allen’s Girls’ School in Dulwich, south London.
